All we want for Christmas … is peace of mind, friends, and an anchored SHIBUMI!
Happy Holidays! We arrived in English Harbor, Antigua, at 0715 Monday morning, December 20th, after a nineteen day whirlwind Atlantic crossing from Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Talk about no time to shop! All we did in the Canaries was prepare for the crossing. We heard our first Christmas carols yesterday, Caribbean style! For more details about our trans-Atlantic crossing, and some pictures, access our web site www.meridians.us and click on Voyages on the left side bar,
Notwithstanding our adventures on the Iberian peninsula and the Med, we are glad to be in the warmth and sunshine of the Caribbean for the winter. We have been here only three days, but it took us no time to re-learn how to jump overboard to cool off. About every two hours. We plan to slow down and tour more slowly as we are beginning to feel the effects of the 5,600+ miles which we logged on SHBIUMI in 2004. We both look forward to living on our own vessel in the Islands that we previously visited only on charter boats. We will spend the winter in the Eastern Caribbean and by late July you will find us far south in Trinidad or Venezuela as we dodge the hurricane season.
Both of us hope that you and yours are well and happy. We wish you a great holiday season and a fabulous 2005. Be sure to email us to tell us what’s happening as soon as it’s convenient. We miss our family and friends as we venture forth. Best regards and happy holidays to all! Stay warm and safe. And come visit.
